26731, Difference in NER kits?
Posted by chachi, Jul-17-02 07:42 AM
Ok I don't have a huge knowledge of turbos, but I was looking at the NER kits and was wondering what the difference is between say the stage 1A kit and the 1F kit? I can see that it is a different turbo in each, but what kind of difference is it? What will the difference in performance be? If there's somewhere this info is posted just point me there. tia.

Simply put, the turbos like 1E or 1F will spool up faster than the turbos in 1B or 1C. It doesn't increase the spool up time significantly though. Only a 500-750rpm difference between them supposedly.

So a faster spool up is the only difference? You get to boost sooner. Any other performace difference? For about $600-700 more it doesnt' sound like a huge difference. But like I said I don't know a huge amount about turbos.

the ball bearing option really helps out 5spd cars.. as the turbo will retain most of its momentum when shifting gears.
