26632, Is my TPS off?
Posted by BoostedGS, Jul-16-02 01:46 AM
I dropped my freshly rebuild engine back into the car over the weekend. Finished everything up yesterday and started it up. It runs, but the idle jumps around between 800-900rpm and the S-AFC shows 40-50% throttle at idle! Is this because my TPS was mis-aligned when the shop bolted it back on? How do I adjust it? And which one is the TPS? I'm guessing it's on the backside of the TB, but I see 2 plugs attached, one upper and one lower.

Also, I'm getting some lifter tick now. My guess is because there isn't much oil up there yet. Has anyone else gotten this with a rebuilt engine? Does it go away soon?

TIA!

Thats how the safc should be for some reason its always like that, as for the lifters, it just may be piston slapping on the cylinder walls, might take a litte longer for them to heat up.

Before I got my engine rebuilt, my S-AFC read 0% throttle at idle, so something is definitely wrong now. I never unhooked the S-AFC from my ECU during the removal of my engine, so I'm thinking the TPS has got to be aligned wrong. I checked the butterfly on the TB and it was completely closed.

Any other ideas?
