26172, Is this possible...... Posted by Strauss, Jul-10-02 03:47 AM
Well, I'm finally broke in :) I hit 1000 miles yesterday so I changed my oil and put the boost contoller on. My fuel pressures under boost are over 110psi. I set my boost to 10psi on the 16G. I running 8.6:1 compression, but I still have the stock injectors in(got to put those 440's in). Anyways, my A/F readings under full 10psi of boost are around .93-.96, and I have yet to see my EGT read over 1400. I haven't really opened her up for a long blast, mostly just up to 100mph or so. At 100 when I let off, my EGT's are around 1350. I looked at my rear bumper and I have carbon splattered all over it. Is it possible for me to be running rich at 10psi with stock injectors? I was under the impression that at 10psi I would be lean. Is it possible my lower compression is keeping my temps down? All I know is according to my gauges, everything is looking good at 10psi right now. Let me know what you guys think.

Damn your EGT hasnt gone over 1400? Mine gets to 1600 in no time under full boost (8psi). I dont know how you guys can have such cold egt's?

Yeah but it still idles like shit. Its really pissing me off!!! But atleast when I pres the gas it runs good. Maybe I just need to keep moving and not stop..LOL. The injectors go in this Saturday if you want to come out and and lend a hand. I am doing it at Brians house and we are also installing his injectors in his Cobra. Should be fun.

Strauss, where is your EGT probe installed, before or after the turbo?

It's installed right in front of the #4 runner on the HRC manifold. My FPR is all messed up, gotta love the Cartech :) So I checked my fuel presure under boost again and it's over 120psi! Maybe thats part of the reason why I'm still rich at 10psi. I'm not really sure, all I know is that my EGT's have yet to go past 1400 and my A/F gauge reads .93-.95 when boost first comes on and the car begins to pull(4000-5000). Then around 6000-redline, it richens out to about .98 or so. Guess I'll just keep my eye on those gauges for now....
