25824, what would I need? Posted by soldier101, Jul-05-02 11:12 AM
to make my cars "other" parts strong enough to take a stage 5 turbo kit from hahn?
I'm gonna do the build up process of everything before I go turbo, and all of this will be spread out over the next year.
I'm swapping in a 5 speed this august. what else do I need to setup to prevent me from breaking the goodies of my car once I hit stage V next summer?

Stage 4 Clutch Masters clutch, stage 3 axles, Quaife differential, weld your IC piping, and some damn sticky tires! I'm sure the stage 5 guys will tell you the lists of shit they break, I'm sure it's a long one!

Be ready from a touch of just about everything that could possibly go wrong. I couldn't have one as a daily driver... so buy a backup. Throw money at it till the problems finally start to subside... and enjoy.

I mean, its just expected... you can't take a car that makes a little over 100hp stock and slap on 30psi of forced induction and expect it to take it... even with rods and pistons... that just means to rods and pistons will take it for awhile, everything else... will need to be replaced over time... things people dont think about... and also stuff thats assocaited with going fast... like expensive brake kits are a must for someone with that much hp... if you can get up to 70mph in a few seconds, you gotta be able to stop quick too... or you'll end up brake fading through an intersection someday or shit like that... there are many factors that should be put into consideration when thinking about stage 5 trim, if you want to daily drive it, i say stage 3, 15psi, be happy...

Soldja, I look at it like this. Im gonna get my 8.6 kit put in. Run maybe 18psi. And leave it at that. Ill prolly start working on the exterior of the car ...veilside front bumper is next... then i guess...well WHO KNOW...but like he said...keep it real....streetable.
