25787, Need help ASAP!!

MY g/f took my car to visit some relatives, 3 hour drive..

HRC stage I on an auto tranny 98 gs..

Someone waved to her to pull over and told her she was smoking badly,
she calls me and tells me this and that the whole front of the engine bay is sprayed with oil and their is a blue hose dangling under the turbo that looks unconnected..

Thats the oil return line from the turbo right? My car is in an autozone 3 hours away.. how hard is it to attach that hose, or install a new one if needed?

(non mechanic me had someone else install it)

Can I fix it with basic tools and an autozone? :-) will I need to jack up the car?

Assuming that the clamp on the hose or just the bolts fell out, then yes, you should be able to fix it with hand tools. I have the star kit and have 2 bolts that hold the little flanged drain onto the turbo and there are hose clamps at either end of the hose. Either the bolts fell out, the clamp came off, or the hose melted or blew up. Should be a simple fix. Just make sure you put more oil in the car, Well check it first, but if that drain was off, you will be low on oil. Goodluck, justin

one of thebest things you can od for your turboed car is get a braided stainless steel oil return line, that uses threaded fittings to attach it to the turbo and oil pan, and not just clamps. the rubber line that comes with the kit is junk and i wouldnt ever use it. stainless line is like 7 bucks a foot(you will need about 2 feet), and you will need a 90 degree AN elbow to attach it to the oil pan. it is like 35 bucks, but WELL worth it.oh yeah, the rubber return line that came with my kit was black and not blue. id change it over as soon as possible.
