25456, New problem.....NO SPARK!!!
Posted by Strauss, Jun-28-02 02:45 PM
Well, I got my fuel pump issues fixed now thanks to a late night WalMart trip for a new battery :) But, she still won't start. I'm getting no spark. I just put new plugs in it and my wires are less than 5K miles old. I checked the crank angle sensor and everything seemed OK. Could that sensor have went bad sitting for 9 months?? It's plugged in and all the wires are fine. I also checked to make sure the coil pack was plugged in and it was. Something is fishy here, I think something in my ignition system had bit the big one over this 9 month transformation. Oh by the way, the Super AFC and Crane ignition aren't installed yet, not till after break in when the bigger injectors are going in. Thanks for helpin' my confused and frustrated ass....any ideas are welcome as always

I might be mixed up here. The sensor I was talking about was the one right above the EGR system on the side of the valve cover. I checked that one, and it looked fine(plugged in/wires OK). If thats the one, could it go bad sitting for 9 months? Before I tore the car down, everything was working fine......

then check the crank angle.. it's under the car right above the oil filter.

Is it possible that the cam angle sensor got damaged or dirty..or something like that? VERY frustrating!!

Besides checking the fact that its plugged in, and making sure the wires are OK, what else should I look for? Like Dave said, is it possible for either of those sensors to have shit the bed sitting for 9 months? We are stumped, we need your guys' help!

It was the crank angle sensor. It wasn't bolted tightly to the block, but it was plugged in. Tightened her up, and she's been starting ever since :) See my new post....
