i would think that i should go with a s20g. why? im an auto with longer gears, which i would think would be better for a bigger turbo, right? also, im not big on actual 1/4 mi from a stop more of a street guy almost all races are from a roll usually anywhere from 35-60 mph starting speed, so i need the top end power, which is also better to have a bigger turbo right? correct anything i have wrong, tia.

yes i know the 16g is smaller and spools faster and the 20g is more powerful, i meant more like specific rpms that they spool at and how much more powerful the 20g is. is it worth it?

If you plan on putting down some major hp on a stage 3+ then I woul;d say the 20g is better. If you are just going stage 2 the 16g is plenty. You can always send the 16g away and upgrade it to a 20g later on.

a s16g turbo will spool up quicker then a s20g turbo... more power at TOP end with a s20g but a loss of low end.. a s16g will be more powerful at low end but not at high end... i have a s16g turbo and i love it! also a s20g turbo will run a bit cooler then a s16g turbo... and the rest dave said...

i guess psi-wise im shooting for 'stage 3', as much boost that i can safely get outta 93 octane and without having to retard timing, at least 15psi. i will more than likely go with the s20g because like i said almost all races are on the street from a roll so i need the top end power. but i dont know, i guess i could just try both.

i think the s16 is perfect for a street machine...
its good for above 15psi.
not sure what the max boost level is for the s16 though....

there will be some lagg time in both..
i would think alil more with the s20..

well, it all depends on what you want to do with the car. if you want a fast street car, you shoudl go with a 20. if you want a car that is pretty quick, go with a 16. The 16 will spool fast, and will do 20-22 psi ok. the 20 spools about 400 rpm slower and will hold between 30 to 24 psi (depending on how long you wind out the car). if you aren't going to wind it up past 15 psi, you are better off with the 16. it all depends on what size injectors you run to wether you need to retard timing or not (thinking your motor is built and you have an afc) The more you lean it out, the less load yoru ecu is going to think you have, and the more timing it is going to pile on, so if you hav eto lean it out A LOT (big injectors) the ecu will pile on a LOT of timing (up to 30 psi at wot) and that will cause you to knock a lot easier than normal on pump gas, and will either limit the amount of boost you can run, or limit yoru engine's life. I woudl not run more than 12 psi without timing retard with upgraded injectors and an afc. anything past that is putting your in the will of the reaper ;). and he will take it when he feels like it.
