24905, stock exhaust and stg II

I currently have hrc stg II running off of my stock exhaust with aftermarket muffler. I get about 5-6psi.... I don have a boost controller. So my question how much more psi will I get when upgrading to 2.5 mandrel bent exhaust with out boost controller?

thanks

You won't hit more psi by just getting a bigger exhaust. (not counting spikes) It may spool up 5-6 psi quicker though. You have to bleed off pressure to the WG to raise boost. You need a boost controller.

unless the stock exhuast is really bottlenecking your setup. i know when i was hrc stage 1, i only got 3 lbs of boost w/ stock exhuast, but would get creep up to 7-8psi + when i ran open downpipe.

I hit 10 psi at a little over 3K and I'm running stock exhaust (unfortunately) You didn't have any problem hitting 20+ psi though eh Ryan ;) lol

so the only good thing would be that I get quicker spool up?.... would I gain extra hp from the exhaust then? I mean compared to a n/a car and turbo car.

lol, well, that was with the boost controller turned up really high right off the bat, ha

and yes, the increases will be higher on a boosted car than a NA car

I disagree, I think you should see another pound or two of boost from putting that exhaust on, as well as faster spool....
