24856, 3000GT VR4 injectors, will they fit my 420a? Posted by PiKapp504, Jun-19-02 01:40 AM
Well, just like the post says, will they fit? A buddy of mine will GIVE, repeat GIVE, me 4 of his 360ccinjectors from his 3000GT VR4 if they'll fint my Avenger's 420a. Will they fit? I'm going boost obviously and I've alo heard that our stock computers can adjust for up to 370cc, is this true? How big of an injector can our stock computer's control? Thanks folks!

Most modern turbocharged cars have peak and hold injectors. Being the Mitsu puts peak and hold injectors in their 4g63 application, I can almost guarantee they do the same in their 6g74 turbocharged app. You'll be hard pressed to find many forced induction cars that use saturated injectors such as ours. Especially ones in the last 10 years or so.
Just and FYI, we can't use peak and hold injectors without a standalone ecu (or some sort of resistor trick).

Our computers can only adjust up to 315cc. 360cc you need a SAFC.

I am looking in getting 440s when I get my car back from the rebuild, does that mean I need to get the S-afc too? Why can't our cars ecu controll 440s. Thanks, Patrick

The details are hidden here somewhere: http://www.geocities.com/vttalon/tech.html What it comes down to is the amount of adjustment that the stock ECU can make. It just can't adjust enough to handle anything much bigger than 315's. We have 235's stock. The ECU was designed to run with those injectors and cope with differing driving conditions and aging of the motor.

the maximum adjustment offered by out ECU is +/-25% of the base pulsewidth map that is built in. it is meant to take into account such things as cold starts, pressure and airflow variations, fuel octane, intake air temp and still be able to come up with a near-optimal map for maximum power with the cleanest emissions. it was never designed to be able to control anything more than a stock injector.
