24790, Maximum Boost Book Posted by Joshua97478, Jun-17-02 12:10 PM
Has anyone out there read/seen the book Maximum boost by Corky bell? I just ordered it from BDaltons. Is it really heavy on theory and math, or does it "dumb down" the whole turbo issue. I hope not, because i dont want a book that is basically "turbocharging for dummies"

I've heard that's the best book you can buy, if you wanna learn about turbos.

It is a really great book to start out with. Its only 250 page faces, so don't expect alot of theory and in-depth explanation. It assumes that you know about cars, but very little about turbos. You will learn how the parts of a turbo system work together. It also skims over designing a turbo system from scratch. If you want more theory, check out an IC Engines textbook from the library or buy one from the university bookstore. I've got "Introduction to Internal Combustion Engines", Richard Stone, 3rd ed. Good book with lots of detail. I've also got "Turbocharging and Supercharging", Alan Allard. Older book (1980's), but has some good info.
