I need to change my oil. How many miles after rebuild should I wait to use Synthetic?
What weight should I use of Mobil 1?

My machinist told me to use 20w50 regular oil for 1000 miles changing it at 500. Then switch over to synthetic.

Yeah I have almost 1700, and I was going to put some synthectic in there so I wwent to the store and I saw all kinds of different Mobil 1 oils so I didn't know which one to get....10W30, 0W15, 10W40....ect....


So I called the shop that did the rebuild and they said continue using Valvoline 10W30 until I have 3000 miles,,BUT they are also the ones that said I couldn't boost ANY until I had 3000 miles on it to so, I kind of quite listning to them.

I use castrol GTX to break in my motor, probably changing to a Castrol synthetic blend at 3000. I've already changed my oil twice, and i only have 250 miles on it :)
