well yesterday i went to leave work and my car was making a nasty ticking sound it had never made before. so i pulled up the datalogger and there were no codes (besides the missing injectors) and when i backed out i saw a nice puddle of coolant. One of the therostat housing bolts had striped the threads on the housing and so caused the leak. so i put a larger/ longer bolt into the housing and it used the back threads and sealed good :), but the ticking is still there...
So i checked my compression after it cooled down about 2hrs. and got 250-260 across the board. my oil is a bit low due to the oil leak, but it still at a good level. so now i need other ideas of what could be wrong????

Also the noise seams to go away when i drive, and will not be as noticable when i stop at a light as it is when i am sitting in the car 1st thing in the morrning or evening....

UH OH, not to alarm you or say that this is it, but my car started to tick before i found out the pistons were hitting the head. hope it's not that man! how many miles you got on your car after the rebuild?

i have about 3000+ miles after the rebuild.
also when i got off the freeway today and was sitting at the light my a/f wet all the way lean and the car was sttutering, and not wanting to go at all. SO i shut it off and turned it right back on, and it worked fine..... :(
Something is not good here any ideas.....

Sounds like lifters, if it goes away under throttle you may be low on oil or oil pressure. Mine used to do it (v6) and I changed from 5w 30 to 10w 30 and it went away.

What size injectors do you have? I can hear my 625's in the car sometimes if I listen real careful. Under the hood they're loud as hell though.

i have the 625's too. i think it might be a lifter tho :(
it seams to be more noticable at very slow speeds like 1-5mph then the sound quiets some at idle and is almost noexistant at normal speeds 20-60mph...

oh, on a side note. i found my oil leak. its the oil pump. i forgot to add the sealant around the oil pump and so it spraied out all around it. :(
