Just installed a HRC Stage II kit and I'm having a problem getting the fuel pressure right. When I start her up the gauge reads 50psi then it drop to 20psi, then it goes back up and down. When it's at 50psi the car is at about 800rpms and the boost gauge read about 20Hg and when it's down at 20 the rpms go up to about 1800 and boost gauge is at 10Hg. Anybody have any idea why this is happening? I need to get my car running, so any help would be apperciated.

The fuel pressure at start up and idle should be at about 45-50 psi, and normal vacuum will be around 20 inHg, without any accessories on. You might want to check for a fuel leak at the FPR, gauge, or near the fuel pump.

Is this with the stock HRC FPR?

No fuel leaks, and it's with the cartech fpr.

haha, i dont want to even get into fuel pressure probs and the Cartech :rolleyes That thing sucks, but some have no probs with it at all..Be sure you have NO vacumm leaks, and your return fuel line isnt clogged or pinched somewhere. Check the regulator itself and be sure the allen bolts holding it together are nice and tight..Check the boost needle valve on it too to be sure its not loose causing a vacum leak. Dont tighten the brass boost valve too much, its a very soft metal..same with the barb fitting that goes into the side of it where the check valve hose goes..Also take off the check valve and try and blow through the white end, it should flow freely..suck through the white end, and you shouldn't be able to get any air throug it. Be sure the white end of the check valve is connected to the vacumm hose too..If all is good, then suspect the crappy cartech FPR..

I'll check all my fuel lines again, but I'm pretty sure there okay. I'll test the check valve out, but I'm still going to order a Vortech S-FMU.
