237, Safe to boost???
Posted by DSM StreetZeal, Dec-10-00 06:14 PM
i going to be running a pretty unique setup and was wondering if you guys could help me cover all the bases.

Current Mods:
Tanabe full cat-back
port/polished head and intake manifold
3 angle cut
dual valve springs
milled head
Gude cams
AEM cam gears

Coming soon:
Star Stage 1
Apex-i Super AFC
HKS turbo timer
electronic Boost Controller (any suggestions?)
egt gauge
boost gauge
air/fuel ratio
thicker Head gasket (IF I CAN FIND ONE!!!!)
afx pulley
and Colder spark plugs right?

since my compression is pretty high, i'll only be boosting like 4 psi, but id like to push 6. I'm going to tame my cams as much as possible. Any suggestions on settings for them?
What should i expect from my egt? I need all the tips and advice and anything else you guys can give me. I know to not run lean and not boost too high.
I love you guys and any help would be appreciated.

Isaac

p.s.
Stay safe on the streets. ALOTA crazy ass people.

I would recommend doing exactly what Joe A. did and get a thick headgasket (which you mentioned) to lower your compression. Yes, they are available. He also has the Gude package so you might want to speak with him. I know with lowering the compression by using the headgasket he has been able to run over 9psi well up to 12psi.

And a whole lot of other mods...
