23662, is there a way to make a 6:1 disk into a 8:1? Posted by ecl98pse, Jun-02-02 11:55 AM
i need a 8:1 recal disc and i have a 6:1. isn't the hole in the 8:1 disc bigger, so couldn't i drill it to that size. does anyone know what size the hole is in an 8:1 disc?

From what I've seen on the S-FMU, its the outside diameter of the disk that determines the ratio. Larger disks give greater ratios. I believe the larger diameter gives a larger area for the pressure to act on, resulting in more force to close the fuel bypass valve. I bet its similar on the FMU. If you knew the 8:1 diameter, you could buy a sheet of steel and cut out the disk. If you need a ring to match it, that would be a problem.
