23616, HRC Install ?s Posted by Lee, Jun-01-02 12:45 PM
I need some help with the fuel set up. I'm just not understanding the directions that well. I need some help connecting the FPR to the fuel sending unit and hooking the aux pump up. If anybody can help it would be appreciated.

lee you might need to be more specific. but I'll try my best.
Start by removign your old regulator. Be careful as it will drip fuel like a mother. after you remove it, go to the back seat and remove the stock return line (the one with the spring clamp).
from there take one of the hoses(not sure which one 3/8 or was it 5/8) and cut it in the length as in the instruction.
screw the 6an fitting on to the out port of the fuel filter.
I woudl reccomend putting one of the hoses you just cut on to the 90* female AN fitting on to the barb first. Use some oil for lube.
place this hose that you just crammed on to the fitting and tighten it to the 6 AN fitting of the fuel filter. This is line that goes to the "IN" (opposite side of the +/- lead on the pump).
Oh don't forget to clmap it down.
with the other hose from the one you just cut, this will go onto the other end of the inline fuel pump. the other end of this hose after securing it on to the pump will go to your stock hard line that you removed from your stock regulator. Be sure to double clamp this end.

electrical wiring is pretty self explanitory. Study how the wiring goes as it is crucial to trouble shooting. Don't remember how everything goes, but the instructiosn were very clear. ______________________________________________________________________
hope this helps out some what. I would reccomend drawing everythign ou on paper before attenpting fuel system. Make sure you understand what is goign on.
good luck.

Do I need to completely remove the stock fuel pressure regulator or does the aux fuel pump connect to it?
