I just got back from the machine shop today. It turns out that I didnt blow any pistons or anything. It was just a blown headgasket. My pistons looked fine. Not bad for what I have put my engine through. I also compared the new pistons and rods to the stock pistons and rods and the stock rods look so wimpy next to the eagles. My engine is all nice looking and freshly painted. It looks sooooo nice. He was goign to finish putting in the pistons today. He said it would be done by monday or tuesday of next week. I am very close to getting my car back! I CANT WAIT!!!!

Good to hear Dave. how many boosted miles was that on the stock internals? seems like it lasted for quiet a bit.

almost 20,000 miles boosted and 92,000 total. We have some tough engines. Anyone want to buy a set of stock used rods and pistons. The machine shop guy said they were in great shape.

Glad to hear the engine's coming along fine. I bet you're probably loosing sleep anticipating the engine back, huh? It'll be worth it. Hang in there!

Hey dave what kind of head gasket were you using?(the one that blew)... man that is good news it was the headgasket only(somewhat I mean) you were always like a inspiration always the one to stand up for the longitivity of turboed 420a's on stock internals to me... hey so does this change your views on boosting 8psi on stock internals?
I need some motivation my 420a is getting a blo job permantly after this weekend :)

Glad to hear this Dave. For all you worry'ers, don't forget, I'm still boosting at 7-8 psi, and my stock internals have been boosted for almost 26k miles.

My situation is strange in that I'll actually being doing an engine swap to a forged internalled 420a before my stock one even wears out. :-) (ah well, I crave more boost)

If I had to do it all over again I would run 8psi on stage 2. And the headgasket I had was the original one with 92,000 miles on it. Like I said before the pistons and the rods and even the bearings were in very good condition according to my machine shop mechanic. And he knows his shit!! I am very proud of what my engine has done and how it has performed. I am happy that I am going stage 3 even thougnh it is early for me and I dont need to. I want more boost. Its going to be nice to beat up on some SS's and Cobras :) .
