23485, what type of intercooler is this ?
Posted by eclipsekaiser, May-29-02 03:28 PM
got this off of a friend of mine. He picked it up from another friend...etc, and somewhere along the line, someone forgot what type of IC this car came off of. I can get this for 50$, and modifying the end tank to flow same side should be pretty easy.

My questions are:
1. is this worth 50$?
2. what type of car this come off of (the core is thick)? looks like a FMIC? There is marking of the VW and the audi rings on them. Made in germany...yeah...:P
3. anybody have any experience with this IC. How is the efficiency and max boost pressure this bad boy can take.

Here are the pictures. Thanx Dan for hosting them. http://www.signal11.com/~thedawg/car/kaiser/

the yellow strip is a standard 1 foot ruler.

core dimension is 13" x 3" x 7" (LxWxH) respectively.

I'm 98% sure that it comes in an Audi. Just saw a few of those at Ebay. Here's one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1832786504
