here's the deal with his car, he told me to post because he can't access his computer tonite...the compression from left to right is 200 90 180 180. oil is spewing out of the oil cap and there is a TON of oil filling the catch can. oil is leeking out of the cam gear casing on the back side of the engine. we took off the cover and cranked it up and the intake cam gear is wobbling like there's no tomorrow. we took off the valve cover and check it and the cams seemed ok. could it be a seal in the cam gear area? my guess is that's probably only one of a host of problems. what happened was he ran at the track, 9psi, but the hose poped off the wastegate and the boost spiked to 22 or so and oil blew everywhere. he replaced the seals around the spark plugs and the valve cover. it seems to idle ok, but isn't holding oil. it's a obd1 if that means anything, no fcd. they were using a T to bleed boost so that they'd trick the wastegate into boosting more, well it worked apparently. and every now and then you can hear a rattle from the engine, busted piston? rod? leaky hg? all of the above? he should be back to post tomorrow, i just got back from doing the compression test thou. BE careful w/ those spikes people, i don't know if that's what caused it, but i do know i'm staying at lowboost myself for dailydriving from now on, it's not worth it.

drop the oil pan and see what you can see and check in the bottom of the pan for parts... its probably most likely time to rebuild...

Welcome to Club

Sorry... I've been without a car for 3 months and have kinda aquired a strange sense of humor about it. Good luck with the rebuild.
