2325, The Super16G & Water-Cooling Posted by RS_Guy, Mar-03-01 10:14 PM
Asking anyone who knows (especially Mr. Hahn)...
Is the Super16G that I have from my Stage II Turbo kit identical to the one sold to 4G63 DSMers????
I am assuming that it is. I am also assuming that the blocked off passages in it are for water cooling...Correct so far?
So naturally my question is Why?? Is it because a water hookup would be too complicated to achieve?
If so, could you at least tell me if it is at all possible...because I worry about my turbo, I want it to live long and I kinda hate the 3 minute turbo timer cool down rate.
Thanks in advance,

Guy,
Armond and I asked this same question to ourselves a long time ago, and I beleive the answer is yes, we can have them watercooled. It would be nice eh?

Hell yeah, it would be very useful. I am going to look into it in more detail soon hopefully, like from where to tap the water supply...
I have seen my oil temps reach about 245deg. F with spirited driving,.. usually it sits at 210ish during summer. Maybe the water cooling might help.

U have a line running right above the manifold - put a tap there and run it to the turbo - it should work, but do not hold me to it. Armond, any thoughts?

I am T ing my lines for my turbo with the heater hose lines. one line is right above the manifold, and the other goes right off of the main water pipe in front of the motor. pretty simple to do.
have fun!
