what is a good EGT with everythign need to install for under 150? I CANT FIND A GOOD ONE FOR UNDER THAT. THat is as much as i am prolly gonna spend..thanks

get the apexi one, it's like 320$, lol...

Just buy the autometer gauge (~$100) and when I get home I'll find the receipt for where I got my $25 probe. It's an airplane shop but the probe is very good. It's so fast that it drops as soon as you let off the gas.

The probe cost $38 and it has a 20,000 to 50,000 mile life span. It is EXTREMELY fast and responsive. The probe came with a 2 ft wire that has a quick disconnect end on it. I had to buy 4 - 5 more feet of wire the first time but after this probe burns out I spend $38 and it takes 1 minute to put in the new probe. :thumbsup

It came with a probe and everything you need to install all for 130 bucks plus shipping.

got mine at turbotrix also 130 bux pyrometer. They sell them in 3 different style mine is a phantom. They said the probe is better than the EGT gauge's box one or something. It is quick acting also. Haha make sure you don't route the signal wire near the EGR tube like I did and melt that sucka.

Same thing happened to me. My EGT wire was melted to the EGR tube.

Same thing here. I ended up using zip ties to keep it away from that hot mother focker. I knew there was something wrong when my egt needle started jumping around.

Whats wrong with the Apexi one? I think my El series meters are pretty damn cool looking. ;) I installed mine Post-turbo though, is this ok? or should I move it?

just watch the EGT tube, its hard to see when you got the wire in there between the battery and teh engine but if it touches it it'll melt and bouce around on the tube giving you these trippy readigs. Route the wire around teh battery or something. It sure looks like it'l be better if you just went straight to the manifold but you should go around the battery just to be safe...

about the apexi does it have a peak hold function where the light goes off at a set temp? I think those are great cuz when your racing you tend to not pay attention to the gauges and if looking at a light helps you decipher that you engine is running to fast in X second faster than looking at numbers with a needle it's worth it. I love my autometer though ^_^

yeh, all the apexi guages have those settings and stuff as far as i know. i can acutally get the apexi egt for 240 if anyone's interested. thats the one i'm getting in about a month or so. ps i just checked my compression and it's better than last time, lol. i didnt' think that was possible. of course i've been at 3psi for the last month and a half, that mite have something to do w/ it.
