231, How do you tell if a motor has bad bearings? Posted by immigrantRyder, Dec-09-00 06:22 PM
I'm about to buy a use 14b off this guy online but he said that it might have bad bearings. How do I tell if this turbo is good guys? if the bearings are bad, does that mean the fan blades will wobble or so, help me out!

The way i normally tell if a turbo is good/bad is i try to move the turbine blades back and forth to see if there is play. (some is ok). Next i spin the turbine wheel to see if it spins freely, if it does then its usually in pretty good condition, otherwise it might need a rebuild. Hope this helps !
