All HRC kitsd use an inline pump that goes under the car. No HRC kit comes with an in-tank pump.

The difference between the 2 fuel systems is the need for the return line since the later models don't have one.

hmmm, thats interesting, cuz i bought the kit used...and the reason im getting confused is cuz the fuel pump i have has a filter on it, and looks like it was in the tank before....
Does anyone have a detailed parts like that comes with the HRC kits? so i can compaire and figure out what parts i need.

TIA again

Your fuel pump should look exactly like this:

NOT like this:

Sounds like you have a walbro intank. Didn't the HRC kits come with that a while back?

Nope. :-)

If you did only recieve an in-tank pump with the kit, you will have to make some decisions. If you want to run 9 psi, you must get an inline pump to augment the in-tank. If you are happy with 6 psi, you can just use the in-tank (assuming it is a Walbro 255 hi-press).

I used a Walbro intank for a year at 8psi. Many people have used the intank pump for 9-10 psi. Its a little risky but it has been done. The walbro is a very capable pump. The only problem is that our cars have tiny injectors.

So Dave, you never used the inline pump with your setup?

No I didnt. I bought it from ray and he also used a walbro itank pump without the inline pump. He had a brand new Walbro when we installed my kit so we put it in instead of the inline one. It was easier.

I know other people have done it...but, by no means would I consider it a viable option. You are taking your engine in your hands when you use a fuel pump at its ABSOLUTE maximum capabilities. 8 psi on stock injectors with the Walbro isn't horrible. 9 psi is asking ALOT out of that pump. Even if it works fine for a year, you can expect a shorter life out of that pump when you routinely run it at 105-110 psi. A good fuel system will have a decent margin of safety.

But now I am going to get some large injectors so my pump should be just fine.

So after my rebuild, I want to run 10psi daily. Now do I need new injectors or new fuel pump?

i run a walbro in tank and the hrc inline when you do this it quiets the HRC pump down immensely. like butta

im doing many searches to figure all this stuff out accurately and whats with all these half answered posts? ok so here we are talking about the fuel pumps and having decent fuel delivery. my car isnt even turboed yet but im pretty sure that if you have the walrbro intank pump, it is the only fuel pump you need IF you are using bigger injectors. ford #30 injectors. now you could use the walbro intank, and the also take the time to rigg up an inline pump, and that would work with the stock injectors. but if you use the bigger injectors with just the walbro intank, you will be garunteed more than enough fuel delivery for 9/10 psi but with much less fuel pressure having to be pumped out. yippie. sounds like a much prefered alternative and nobody even took the time to discuss this set up. one concern i ran into was the fact that the ford 30 injectors come in sets of 8 of course, so your blowin like 200 bucks on injectors when you only need 4 of them. i could buy them and then have an extra set, but i might not even have the car long enough to use those injectors for all i know, so maybe somebody wants to go in half and half on a set of 8 sometime? i was also wondering about all the sizes of fuel lines i will need know when i am setting up my custom turbo. measurments usually go by labels like "-4an". is their a book or manual for our cars that i could get that would have all of these specific measurements? in the event of me figuring it out myself...i would measure diameters of the male/female connections and order the lines i need, but if its a "-4an" for example, what god would a measurment like "a quater inch" do. this goes the same for the oil lines. all the connections...what are these sizes and how do i get this specific info. does anybody else have anything to say about this stuff? somebody who actually knows about this stuff. i know nothing.
thanks guys,
-paul
