22769, HRC vs. TurboGS Posted by phillicl, May-21-02 08:28 AM
Has anyone tried the TurboGS Stage I? It only costs $1899.99. It says HP is increased to approx 180. I hear the HRC Stage I increases to 200 to 225.
here's the link to TurboGS http://www.turbogs.com/products/eclipse&talon.htm
Also, if I install a turbo kit, will it be compatable with existing mods such as CAI, UDP, and Cat back?
Thanks Chris Oxford, OH 99' GS

Many people have it here. It's called STAR turbo.

They're both close ot one another actually. The turbogs site quotes HP at the wheelswhile HRC does so at the crank.
>>Also, if I install a turbo kit, will it be compatable with >existing mods such as
CAI - NO
UDP - YES
Cat back? - YES
Use the "search" option above to learn much more.

The star kit doesnt come with a BOV or a bost gauge either. Buyt it is well worth the price. I was goign to get it but then Ray blew his engine for the second time and decided to sel his HRC kit and the rest is history.

HeHe. That question isnt allowed here. :nono One isnt better than the other. They both make your car hella fast and both are bolt on kits. The main difference is the support the HRC kit comes with. Other than that they both are turbo kits. A turbo kit is a turbo kit as long as it works

>So in your opinion... which one is better? :) > > HRC has customer service. NUFF SAID!! They are both good kits although ive never seen or been in a car with STAR, I hear lots of good things about the kit. HRC has an awesome kit also but they have CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you have a problem you cant figure out with STAR, you must pay whatever to get a mechanic to check it out. HRC, on the other hand can give you a couple things to check out if they know the symptoms.

WRONG Star does have support, in the form of this forum.. a lot of us are running the star kit and can help with most questions any other mechanic will solve. Secondly the Star kit does come with a bov and boost gauge.. mine did. :p

Ok guys, no need for a debate. I may not have the $$$ for a turbo anyway. :) But who knows...
BTW - if i were to go turbo, i would have to go HRC... my car ignorant ass would probably screw up the STAR kit!
