22688, question about the fuel pumps in HRC kits Posted by rfpunch, May-20-02 11:16 AM ok ive been boosted for about a month and a half now. and my fuel pump is EXTREMELY loud. i got to see another boosted 420a yesterday and my friends pump sounded nothing like mine. you could barely hear it compared to mine. mine vibrates the whole backseat. did HRC change pumps recently? or could mine be going out on me? it pumps fuel just fine, but its so loud it almost overpowers the radio. 22689, RE: question about the fuel pumps in HRC kits Posted by mitseclps, May-20-02 02:29 PM when my pump was dying it became VERY high pitched (more so than normal) and sounded like i had a cat stuck in my wheelwell (i've got an inline pump below the car) it was bad, my new one is still noisy but not as high pitched as the other one, and the frequency stays constant, when my old was was dying it would change tone every few seconds, like i ran the cat over again, lol... | |

I believe they come from the same manufacturer. His was new. I think you just have to live with it. Or try some sound deadening material or more rubber insulators. | |
