22478, ? for those w/ ford motorsport 30lb injectors

what color tops do your ford motorsport 30lb injectors have?

i just wanna be sure i actually have what i think i have....

reason being, i have the red top...all the pics on ebay and such show the same red top injectors i have. but i saw a modded 5.0 this weekend, saw the red top injectors on his car, and was like "30 lb injectors right?" and he said they were just 24lb injectors....

Ryan mine are red also, and they were pulled from a T-Bird SC
beware that the color of the top is not an abosolute reference
GM use a different color scheme and after market supplier too
And GM v8 injectors are also swappable on the Ford engines

Hey Ryan, I'm not sure exactly what the part number is on your injectors, but I knew my new injectors were in fact 40-42lbs, by matching the part numbers that were listed on the side. through different sources. If you look on the side of the injectors, you'll find some part numbers that can act as an identifier. Mostly all sotck injectors whether they are Ford or Chrysler (and other companies) are Bosch injectors.

For instance, the stock injector number as listed next to the harness plug (on the injector still) is : 0 280 150 965

On my 42 lb injectors, they read as follows: 0 280 150 558

One injector has a Chrysler pentastar and the other has the Ford insignia, but both are Bosch's and are identical in size and materials. Only the colors and part numbers differ.

Here are two websites that have a fairly exhaustive listing of these Bosch injector part numbers:

http://www.telusplanet.net/~chichm/tech/injectors.pdf

http://volvo.alvarogil.com/EFI/FuelFlow.html

Take a look at those sites, and you should be able to hopefully match up the Bosch numbers that are on the side of your injectors.

I was at my friends exhaust shop last night (HUGE Mustang guy) Told him I had 30lb Mustang injectors and he said "they're red right? I have the same ones." That's good enough for me.

K, i was 95% sure i had the 30lb injectors, and since i sold the other 4 to Matt, i wanted to be sure. that mustang guy put a little amount of doubt in my mind, but maybe he had gm injectors, or maybe he thought i was asking baout something else (when i said redtop he thought i was asking about his distrib, maybe he thought i asked how many degrees advanced or something...he had a stroker 347 motor, making ~500hp :) :) )

thanks for the links Jason, i know i have what i think i have :)

I'm building a 5.0 right now in my garage, we just bought the 30 lbs. and they are red, so that clinches it. Good luck
