got my injectors in and the 3:1 disc. a friend of mine is going to help me do it but with my schedule and his schedule it may not be possible for awhile. how long of a job is it from start to finish? do you need any speacial tools? i did my own turbo install as well as everything else on my car except internals and clutch.....thx for your help guys......patience is a virtue.

remove the piping from the tb, and battary, if you want remove the tb but u dont got to... then there will be a fuel line on the drivers side going to the injecs rail two bolts 8mm remove that, then disconnect the harness adapter then remove the 2 bolts 13mm behind the intake manifold holding the rail on... then the rail should be loose and u can remove it, then remove the clip i forgot the name on top or so of the injec and pull the injec off remove the adapter to the injec also... there will be like two washers or so one on top and one on the bottom of the injec... put some oil around these when u install ur new injecs and reverse the process... the hardest part i would say is to remove the two bolts behind the intake manifold holding the rail... that is why im going to wait for a friend to help me or he might do it for me cuz he is the man...hehe

also someone said to cut the barbs holding in the harnesses for the injectors, do i not need these to re-install the injectors?

It shouldn't take you more than 1-1/2 hours form start to finish. It is a VERY tight fit if you are taking them out w/o taking the manifold off.

but it can be done right? i don't want to take off the manifold. anyone have a answer to my barb question for the harnesses?

pull the barbs off the injectors and reinstall them when the new injectors are in. I found it easier to put them in at an angle and then just rotate them. Make sure you take note how they are installed and put them back in the same way. They hold the injectors to the rail.

Do not cut them.

BTW: I used a needle nose and small flat head screwdriver.

I think it took me 2 hours total. Remove the stock coil pack(4 bolts) to help you have easier access.

I also started my car and then removed the fuse to get rid of the fuel. I do have my fuel pump rewired. do not forget to disconnect the battery when doing the job.

He wasn't refering to the injector retaining clips, but the two "nipples" that stick up on the top of the rail itself, i believe they are the other end of our stock rail retaining brackes. if you cut those off, it creates much more room to work with when you have to do it again.

...really, for some ODD reason I remember being there when YOU did your turbo by yourself and I remember giving you a call for the Dodge specialist shop that did clutches for 250...
...maybe it's just me and MY memory is lapsing...LOL...hahaha.

Do it yourself it's just a bunch of nuts and bolts. Be Sure to relieve the fuel pressure before you start, but the whole maybe just a couple hours. Also removing the valve cover helps to make space and RTV sealant isn't expensive and can be used as the new gasket.

lol all you did was sit around and watch....you did run to the store for me though a few times like a water boy. the shop that did the clutch install couldn't install it right and my car sat there for 2 days until they called centerforce for help, but it was a good price. give me back my clear tail lights!

"I dont know the arc its in but i will give you some advise. When you take out the fuel rail, cut off the barbes that hold the harness to the rail. This lets you easily get your hand back there with the wrench. When you cut the brackets off file the edges down so you dont cut your hands up."

"I would not recommend removal of the upper manifold due to the fact that you need to replace the gaskets. This in return would make you want to replace the lower gasket and throttle body gasket. And since you have it off why not port it. Well thats just me but that happens all the time. The injector rail comes out easy and with enough wiggling and a small driver you can get the bolts out of the back of the rail no prob. Actually I think i used a small1/4 breaker bar with a socket no ext. to break the bolts loose and then removed the bolts by hand. The rail will come out with the injectors in it(trust me).This is where cutting the brackets off the top of the rail come in handy. Upon install set the injectors first. Then press the rail in from behind. A few nudges back and forth and all the injectors go in. Reinstall the clip retainers wire it up and so on. If you need any help hit me up and I'll walk ya through it. "

All of that work just to swap injectors. wow. It takes 15 minutes on the 4g. :)

the barbs are the insert holes for the injector harness. The two big lumps. The reason i say to cut both of them off is because you really dont need harness support. Another reason is when setting injectors you should inspect for leaks. The only way to do that is run the pump after youre all set up. If you do have a leak you have to take all that shit back off. Screw those tabs , barbs or whatever you want to call the just cut'm file'm and put it back together.late mike
