Would it be alright if i were just to replace the pistons with JE pistons and keep the rods stock and boost at 10psi? I've been boosting at 10psi (stock internals) for 3 years now and my engine is still going. But i've calmed down on racing these days.

I would buy forged rods but....I was on the phone with eagle rods tech told him what I was working on and he said, quote: You've got some pretty strong rods that come in that engine!unquote.
So I would say yes!
They must have some where along the line tested our rods for what ever reason..

Well you answered your own question by running 3yrs but yes its okay if you can stay at low boost. I planned on running up to 15psi on stock prepped rods before a change in program. If $350 rods or even crowers that didn't take 2+ months to get were available at the time I would have gotten rods but now 2GNT's actually has a bitchin aftermarket (might have something to do with the at least 3 per day modified 2gnts I see everytime I leave the house).

But would the JE pistons fit right on the stock rods?

No. the JE pistons use a floating wrist pin. You have to have your stock rods machined and bushed for the floating pin.

When it comes down to it, yes, it is possible to mount forged pistons on stock rods, but after the prepwork, machining, and treating, you're getting pretty close to paying for a set of Eagles anyway.

After Dinos comment it would make no sense to me not to just go ahead and buy the eagle rods.
