Those were the days :P I got my turbo about three months after Dino and them (March). I remember being so frustrated at times. Troubleshooting was definitely much harder.

Everyone turboing now complains about the paranoia with any tick or sound from their car. You should of been one of the small handful that had the kits back then. I would pull over and pop my hood for inspections up to three times when making 5 min. drives to the store :P

And of course e-mailing Wyatt all day and constantly being on his site going over the install walk-through. Then posting on here to try and get any kind of help I could. The fact that I was still in high school and the car was my only mode of transportation didn't make it any less stressful :P I wonder if I can find some of my old posts, hmmm...

There were seriously only like 3 or 4 guys turbo'ed when I made the leap. And all those guys were the ones getting a TON of emails from me asking about placement of the the FPR and relocation of the c/c. (hehe) As I remember, Corbin had just installed his kit that he had bought from ThunderRS, but besides that, Wyatt had his kit on for about 3 or 4 months, and of course, Chris (Murix) and Joe A. (Blkout) were the only other people out there to lend some advice. At least, I was able to rely upon 2 or 3 people with HRC kits, Wyatt had even fewer people from which to draw upon for his STAR troubles. Back then, it seemed everyone blew their pistons, so we all had to be super careful.

Thinking back, I think we've all come a long way, when it comes to understanding about turbocharging the 420A. Heck, before I found this board, I hardly knew anything about my car, except changing the oil and spark plugs. Before, I was always scared to try anything, worrying that I might break something. Now, breaking something is a lesson.

This list has bettered me soo damn much in the garage.. All of this applies to all automobiles so I feel i am learning stuff that will continue to benefit me for many years to come. I just want to say thanks for everyone helping everyone out, this is by far the best list serv on the net, most of them are punk assholes, but we rarely see troubles out of our group. Keep up the good work guys.

:) I remember when I went turbo Joe A had nitrous and MWC lived in Atlanta as well. I remember speaking with RaceEng at Moroso in Sept of 99 and having my engine out of my car for a rebuild by November of 99 with JE pistons and Crower rods in hand. That was a long rebuild though. :( HRC only had up to Stage II available so I had to do a lot of stuff my own way at the time. That is when Armond figured out the wiring for an AFC on the 420A. :)

DAMN those were the days. I got on this board a few months after Juan started, shit I even remembered when Juan used to post. I found this board when I was looking to buy a car. After a month of posting I finaly bought my 2gnt and about 3 months after that, ThunderRS boosted. I would get a rise just reading the posts. I would bug Joe P., that's right Joe P not A, though occasionally I'd talk to Joe A. But I would bug Joe P on what I should do with my car and where to next. Back then, the biggest thing was cold air intake, NGK BKR5, rims, sound system, and racing with civics and integra ls, those were our arch nemesis, now they're but a mere little dissappering head lights in our rear view mirrors. Now it's turbo's, nos, and racing wrx, Spec V, 4g63, GSR, Type Rs, Preludes, modded CRXs, and muscle cars. We've definitely come a long way. I used to be Veasna97NT. And we've proven that the 420A "neon" engine defintely has very high potential and with right mods and same amount of money can hand some more expensive super hybrid transforming interchangeable engines their asses. Alright, I let me breathe.
