Posted by tacoman123, May-13-02 02:56 AM
A few weeks ago, a guy put a list of what he turbo parts he was going to put in his car...
Does anyone still have that list...
He said he was using a 16G, and he asked if he needed anything else..
Thanks

That's me... here's my list:

16G Turbocharger
Custom Exhaust Manifold
Downpipe/Exhaust
Starion FMIC
IC Pipes
BOV
Intake Filter
Manual Boost Controller
VC-2 FCD
Vortech FMU
Fuel Pump
SS Oil Lines
Gauges (Digital A/F, EGT, Oil Pressure, Boost, Fuel Pressure)
Misc. (Connectors/Clamps/Fittings/Hoses/Gaskets)

That's a good start for lower boost pressures. Internals and fuel upgrades for higher boost. I'm not done yet but I got my 16g brand new for $300! :)

hehehe... I have a friend that works for Mitsubishi... that's the price that he can get them for. I tried to get more, so I could hook up some follow 2GNTs, but he can't do that... it'd be abuse of his employee discount. That's a killer price, though... might as well have stolen it! :)

On a side note... that's really the only way to build a custom turbo system for less than a Star or HRC kit. You have to have great discounts and get some used stuff. My total cost will be about $1300, ofcoarse I'll be doing all the labor.

Add $1400 for building the bottom end and a few hundred for additional upgrades and my total is $3000. Isn't that HRC's price for stage 2? ;) Wish me luck... I'll need it!

$1300...do you have EVERYTHING you need? I'm at $2400 right now installed (guessing on piping and 3" exhaust) Do you have all the fittings and thing for fuel and oil? I spent $150 just on oil lines and fuel fittings.

See if your boy can get another 16G for that $$$ and I'll make it worth his while. On the other hand does he work at a Mitsubishi car dealership. I work at a Pontiac dealer and have access to all factory parts from just about any manufacturer that you can think of. If he works at a dealership than I guess I can try to get the turbos for this cheap. let me know.
