21861, dyno, need a new MAP, lower hp than before, bad shop - long Posted by mitseclps, May-11-02 07:06 AM
someone posted not so long ago for a MAP sensor, well i need one now too. if you've still got them, email me at mitseclps@yahoo.com or talk to me on IM at mitseclps, or post here plz, thanks.
now, about the dyno. he said i got like 140hp at 3psi. 2 months ago i had 175hp at 3psi. can anyone explain this to me? i have a dead map sensor apparently. i don't have an fcd on my car and apparently the diaphram in the map doesn't work past about 4 pounds now, according to the shop. they also said that because it's dead the car is pulling timing and adding fuel when it's not supposed to and thats why the dyno run was so crappy. could my bad hp numbers be anything to do w/ the MAP sensor?
they say it isn't they're responsibility to get me an fcd because the car ran fine for a month or so without any problems. i say they should pay for it because i paid for a fully functional turbo kit, not one that would go thru MAP sensors every month ya know? anyone got any ideas, they're going to be calling HRC on monday to talk to them about fcds or what not. if they don't cover a vc1 or 2 i'll buy one on my own and never go back, i don't think i'm ever going back as it is, but as of now we're still on speaking terms. they charged me 50$ for the dyno run (usually it's 125$/hour) and i was up there for a little over an hour. i was expecting a free run since it had to do w/ the turbo and it not being tuned rite, but since it was the MAP sensor i guess they had reason for charging me, but still, what else can i say to get them to cover the fcd, don't all kits online come w/ them?
to anyone from jax,fl: SPEEDCRAFT ENGINEERING out in orange park does great manufacturing work (like making a custom turbo kit) BUT THEIR SERVICE SUCKS SO BAD IT'S UNBELIEVABLE. they're prices are rediculous. it was 600$+ for an n1 and i got one for 475$ shipped online. get everything and do what you can at home (guages, electronics etc) like i did and if u're interested in a custom turbo kit that's badass (when u're not blowing MAP sensors) go there for the work and NEVER GO BACK. i think they're charging 75$ an hour now for labor which is insane. i'm pissed.
