Ive got the kit all hooked up and everything. the RFL doesnt have the whooooooosh of air like ive heard on some GST's, its more of a loud "gobble". still sounds good, but not what i was expecting. how many washers have you guys put in it? do you have the vaccum hose hooked up? im at 7psi, so is it just not enough boost to open it all the way? thanks for any insight.

That gobble is surge. If you’re only running 7-psi you need to take out the washers and loosen the cap a little. Keep turning it out until you don’t hear the flutter sound. I also have a vac line w/ no tees off the tb going to it. I have no washers in it and i have turned it about 2.5 turns out and it sounds fine. It should be loud as shit.

If you end up turning the cap so much that it comes off you would then need to cut the spring a little.

I did nothing to mine, installed as is and it sounds real good. It's louder than most who has a different brand running 15+psi, so the sound doesn't really bother me. I get sort of a laser blast then a whhoosshhh pssshhtttt sound very different from everyone else around here, but everyone else seems to love it. I'm only pushing 7-8 psi.

Most people on here are using this bov actually, quite popular. I have one as well, but i powdercoated that ugly purple top red :-) hehe... so whats the deal with the washers and shit? I dont have the instructions, but I assume the more washers, the higher the boost it can hold?

i had my piping powder coated and now the flange is just a lil to big and the bov wont fit. anyone else have this problem?

i'm going to have one of the other flanges it came with welded on and repowder coat the pipes and make sure the guy doesn't touch that flange when poweder coating

tried that already. i'm afraid that it won't make an air tight seal.

so can anyone verify any equations that tell how many washers you need for different boost settings or is it just pick and guess, and if it hold the boost, yippie? like i did, hehe. I think I have 6 or 8 washers in there.
