alright, first off i meant coil pack, its been a LONG day. we finished a friends star stage 1 install, and went to pick it up after it was fitted with the FMIC.i was driving it home, and it started getting really sluggish. before, it was running REALLY rich with the 30lb injectors, with black smoke coming out the tail pipe. i attributed this to the catalytic converter being in it still, which had nitrous ran on it for quite some time. after the car died i got out, and looked under it. the cat was glowing red! we had it towed back to the shop and i just looked at the engine bay again today. it has the test pipe on it, but while changing the plugs, i noticed the back part of the coil pack was cracked almost in half! melted gunk was on it. what could have caused this? can a neon coil pack work on an eclipse? cause we have one in the back that isnt running that we can just swap out. any insight to this problem or past experiences are much appreciated. my cat NEVER did that when i first had my kit. thanks for any help.

ok, quick update. i switched the the Coil packs out(withthe one from the Neon) since the part numbers were the same. it will crank, but runs like SHIT, it sounds like it is only hitting on 2 cylinders. i ran the codes on it, and got a 12 and a 61. the 30A Engine fude was also blown, but we replaced it with the power window fuse(30A also) and still no change. the engine wasnt ever even boosted on. do you think the exhaust might just be really junked up? ECU gone? thanks for any help guys.

i don't think you have to worry about code #12. just saying your battery has been disconnected recently...

don't know what #61 is though.

what about his plugs? also you may want to reset the ECU again. is his ignition and fuel setup stock? (just what came with the kit i mean).

after all this happened, we changed to brand new plugs. his fuel setup consists of Accel 30lb injectors.it had been running REALLY rich on this setup, which is weird cause DeanoD is using the same one and doesnt run rich. but what i think happened is, the coil pack was on its last leg anyways, and the bigger injectors put it down for the count. the car was probably running SO rich cause the coil pack couldnt burn the extra fuel like it should have been able to compensate for. and that extra fuel clogged the hell outta the the cat, thus killing both of em. we are gonna swap in a good coil pack tomorrow and put in the testpipe. hopefully this will clear up the problem.

this is weird, i just installed my AFC and now i get the CEL error #61 too! anyone know what this is? not listed at 2gnt.com

for code 61 read a post i made above about it... also do a compression test just to be safe... i use to blow my 30a motor fuse because i had a switch near metal and when i flip the switch my car would turn off etc...
