21570, pocket logger problems Posted by sean, May-08-02 04:46 AM
Anyone using this that can get it to log anything useful. All I can log is throttle position and RPM, WTF. It's on a 96 ESi AT. It logged a 95 AWD AT and a 95 AWD MT without a problem. I tried a few times and that's all I could get. Any have any better luck ith it, or do I have to send it back?

it may be because they are OBD1 and you are OBD2, im not sure the exact dates the different emmissions systems were changed...
i would look into that, or really spend time goin thru the program...(u prolly have already)..
good luck

It's the OBDII software. I have an AFC in the car and it can read more then the pocket logger. I have configured the conection and it's about 11/sec.

We need the OBDII version for sure. Is anyone running this on an AT with any success?

I think I have a theory about why it's not working. Tell me if this makes sence. The data link connector on the car receives a signal from the PCM and the ECM. What if there's a problem with the connection from the PCM. Do you think it would still be able to read the signal from the ECS, therefor only let me view throttle position and RPM. The data link connection from the PCM has it's own fuse and fusible link. Both are fine and the groung is next to impossible to get at to check. I will try to log the car with the data link connection from the PCM having it's fuse pulled and see if I still get the same results to try and narrow this down to being either the program or the car. Any ECU experts out there to tell me if this is viable or not?

Mike, it seems like you are using Acrobat Reader to open the obd2 files. Therefore, the error message will pop up since Acrobat can only open .pdf files. We'll just talk about it tmrw.

I talked to the guy at pocket logger and he's tried a few things to fix the problem. You should hit him up with an email and maybe he will speed up the process. I just don't want to be stuck with a Palm that I don't need for anything else and software that I can't use. My SAFC shows more stuff then the logger right now and I need it to tune my new injectors :(

He's still working on the problem. We tried a different program that he used to fix a similar problem in a VW (I believe) but it didn't work. Is your car AT or MT?
