im runnin an eclipse rs 99, stage 1 star performance turbo....i thought turbo was suppose to be fun, and worth my money, how come im sad

here are some things that are going wrong:

1) when i floor the car, at 5 thousand rpm, and after, it seems like it stops boostin, the car starts shaking, and starts misfiring, i have ngk spark plugs, the 7 range, and i gapped them to .35, that still didnt help


2) when i floor my car, blue smoke comes out of the exhaust, only when i floor it though, not when im normally driving..

3) when my blow off valve goes off, it kinda barks like a puppy before it goes "pssssht", its an HKS standard bov by the way.




So what do you guys think about the misfiring, MSD ignition? will that work better? Do you guys think the blue smoke is due to the misfiring?

RUN A COMPRESSION TEST, SEE IF YOUR ENGINE IS OKAY FIRST.

Blue smoke is oil burning, period. If oil is burning, thats a bad thing and there has to be a reason for it.

dude i told u also what to do in a previous post...blue smoke is oil going wrong somewhere... the misfire could be a incorrect gapping on the plugs... i would bring it down a bit and see what happens...

When you blow your engine your car will misfire. You'll think its something with the ignition but it very well could be the compression. Do you have any check engine lights? Do a compression test right away and se whats going on with it and then take it from there.

I did a compression test, here are the numbers,

yes that's pretty good, well borderline anyway :P

Try gapping the plugs, looking for exhuast leaks look everywhere on the manifold, test spark plug wires, coil pack, etc... basically all the stuff I did when my car choked on the dyno. RU getting enough fuel?

has it been like this since you've had the turbo installed? have you done anything to the car recently? compression doesn't look too bad....least it's consistant....well how does your oil level look?

Was this a wet test or a dry test? Might help to do both, because you can start to get an oil leak with slightly reduced compression if the rings are starting to go...

Yea guys, its been like this ever since i had the turbo, ive only been turbo'd for a month now...my car drives normal and perfect...but when i floor it, thats when the smoke comes outta the exhaust, the light light light blue smoke...but heres a thing i noticed, when i drive my car without the turbo in it, and i floor it, no smoke at all, not even a little bit, then when i install the turbo back in, and floor it, the smoke comes..i hope this bit of info helps u guys in finding my problem...but thanks for all the replys, you guys are the greatest

while your compression is consistent it's kind of low.......but since it is consistent that means you would have had to of damaged all your piston rings to the same degree (i think that's unlikely).....do you notice any excessive oil consumption or blowby? do you see any oil in you BOV or piping?

i checked my piping, i cant see the oil, but when i rub my finger in it, i can see oil on it...just a little...also, when i rub my finger on my exhaust muffler tip...its black, and i can also feel and see oil on it. still dont know what the hells goin on

check your fuel pressure. it could be too high. this happened to me when i didnt adjust my fpr. was running waaay too rich and smoke was cmin out the exh. give it a try and see what happens.

try this......go to autoparts store look for this oil additive called "restore". try it, less than a rebuild......

I now you first posted this a long time ago but if you have not done so regap your plugs between the .28 and the .30 mark.

Whats the water temp lookin like, normal or a little hot? How often do you have to put oil in the car? Do you ever smell oil burning?
