how many of you guys have to turn on the heater after a couple of runs with the pedal on the floor? cuz i have had to do that alot lately. i dont have an egt yet or a/f guage.(i know i know) but am getting them shortly. should i jes take it easy? or is this normal?

You mean that the coolant gauge starts to rise and you turn on the heater to pull some heat out? I've done plenty of back to back runs; coolant gauge never budges. I would lay off it until you get an EGT.
