I went through the searches and found nothing closely enough related to my question so here goes...I'm installing a Hahn stage 1 on my bone stock 98 RS. Now everybody tells me how much their NT flys after the HRC kit but will it be enough to beat a Mustang GT? I'm talking about the 260 hp GT's that you see everywhere.

I think that's his signature. And about the question, I'm not sure cuz I havn't gotten my Stage 1 yet. All I know is that w/ an intake, exhaust, udp, tb, & motor mounts I still got beat by a Mustang GT by like 3 seconds. He was runnin low 13s.. I'm not sure what all he had under the hood.

ourformerselves - did you really expect to beat the mustang? if it was the newer ones, then they pretty much run stock 14s, 13s with a decent driver.

Just to add my $0.02! I beat a New Mustang GT with 10psi. I have video to prove it! It was cool, I had my brother video it from the passenger side while I was driving. The video is like 5.5megs in size so if you want it let me know. I know that it's too big for hotmail and yahoo mail. But, I spanked him pretty bad. We got a close up of his face saying "Oh shit, i'm getting beat by an Eclipse!" hehehe Laters.

I would not think you would beat a new GT with a stage 1, but it depends on how you drive, how he drives, any mods done to his car will surely seal your fate...

i beat the new mustang gt's star stage 2 (10 psi). we were even until we hit the high end 3rd gear and i was gone.

Yeah, that's how it was with me, sort of. We went from a roll. He had punched it and then I punched it after him. I walked him down and passed him rowdy. Once third gear hit, I was gone. Damn, I love the boost. :thumbsup

Unless the Mustang owner can't drive, you probably won't get him with your stage one. It's hard enough for stage 2's to take the new GT's. But then again, anything can happen!

if you have an email address that can hold a file above 5.5megs let me know and i'll send it to ya, otherwise if there's a place i can send it to for storage for others to view let me know and i'll send it there. As for the mustang driver, I raced him on many different occassions from rolls and starts, and still took him. Again this was on 10psi of boost also. The setup I have is a star setup, built bottom end, bigger injectors, MSD Programmable ignition, and what ever else. Do have a nitrous setup in the works at this time but was not used during the races. Dude drove well, but the Eclipse was just too strong! :thumbsup

Sorry bro.Considering drivers w/ equal skill,unless you got 10 psi,I wouldn't bet on it.

Yeah i guess it was one of those freak accidents where they sold a Mustang GT without the 4.6 v-8. So I smoked a mustang on 10psi, big deal. On to bigger and better races. }>

Okay guys,

Because of the demand to check out the video and because many people don't have a mail box big enough for the video, I have set it on a page. It should work. btw who was the other eclipse in their and what did he have?

The other Eclipse was a 98 GST with an intake and exhaust setup. He had an AFC and Boost controller. I pulled over and talked to him. He's a cool guy, but didn't know too much about the car he drives. He's never taken it to the track or anything. Many people would call the video a "rice-by" or a fly-by. But I guess you had to be there to see the whole picture. The mustang wanted to race me that's why he waited in the parking lot and pulled out as I was approaching, then when I pulled up besided him, he gunned it first, then I gunned it next. But many believe I did the fly by which is okay cuz everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I did race him like 5 times that night and it just so happened that, this was the only vid I had taken because the battery went dead in the camcorder early in the night. Oh well, I'll post one showing a true race from a start next time, but until then enjoy that dude's face he made as we "flew-by".
