20556, It's Alive :-) Posted by Super20G, Apr-25-02 11:40 AM
Just wanted to post a note that my car is back to life, running strong as hell, since i tore it down, heres what i did...
-polyurethane motor mount inserts -clutchmasters stage 4 clutch -quaife limited slip diff -exaust manifold was machined smooth, new mls gasket, studded the block and double nutted it(i dare you to come loose :p) -ported and polished intake manifold, gasket matched -57mm bored tb -all new silicone i/c connectors -powdercoated a lot of shit -tuned the cam gears and dfi somewhat -18'' parada spec-2 tires -projector headlamps -electric oil pressure gauge -fuel pressure gauge in engine bay -removed interior and rewired the car inside and out, boy was it a mess
i think thats most of it, the main stuff atleast., i have only put like 20 miles on the engine since its been running today, but I will get in some more miles tonight to wear in that clutch. I already did a nasty posy burnout cause some guys on some backroad was talking shit and trying to fight saying we were driving fast infront of their house, import haters i suppose, we went back with some ammo and they were quick to shake our hands and appologize :-)

AWESOME BRO, BREAK THAT CLUTCH IN RIGHT THOUGH! You don't want to be pulling it apart cause you didn't break it in for 500 miles of stop and go driving like it calls for. How's the idle with the 57mm TB?

To tell you the truth, Kyle, I cant tell a difference in the idle after the tb isntall.... really, its not bad, my idle is kinda crazy anyways cause i have my cam gears tuned a lil' too radical, but it doesnt stall... and if it was bad, the accel dfi really has a lot of stuff to help it idle better, but i dont know how smoothly it would have went over with a oem spark/fuel setup... btw, i wasnt planning on getting on it and leaving posy, but the dudes were telling us to get away from their property, threatening us, etc... my dad and my buddy lee pulled up, both have been in the navy forever... and me and my other crazy buddy were in my eclipse... so i got a little cocky..

Just be easy on it for around 500 miles, city driving is the best for wearing in a clutch. Try not to boost much, I havent quite followed that rule :-) hehe, but I am trying my damned best, its hard.
