heh you seem to be in the same boat as me. I've checked everything and everything is perfect with my engine but the compression :( GOt 150 135 135 150. I'm at like 93k right now how many you got. I'm just thinking that the engine has had it's days :( Did you do the compression test while the engine was warm? I'm planning to rebuild mine in the summer myself hehe hope I can pull it off, thanx to speedracer the process doesn't seem too hard. I just wanna hit 100k and say my engine survived 100k miles of hell hehe....

Buying rods, rings and pistons would actually be right around the same price, if not more than Howell's rebuild kit. I saw they offer a top end kit now. Looks badass.

yep that's my plan too! Pistons and rings then just streghnthen the rods. I don't think it really matters cuz me and Kory did compression tests on the same day and we got radically different numbers. He got 215 across the cylinders where I got like 170 but mine was cold when we did the compression tests. ^_^

pistons alone are $450. You might as well get another $600 and do everything at once.
