bone stock which is faster?

if youre running either, then its not bone stock.

but anyway, i thinkthey stage 2 will take the 75 shot easily...thats 75 crank HP rated on nitrous systems, correct? if so, a stage one at 5 pounds should run slightly faster than a 75 shot. if not, you could always just race a full half mile and when the 75 shot goes dry you keep rolling at 8 pounds.

if u're running from a stop, the 8psi will win b/c w/ a 75 shot (assuming each car is on street tires) you CAN"T use in first gear, it's even rough in second. 75 shot is like a top of 2nd bottom of 3rd type of thing. my 50 shot was actually faster in the 1/4 than the 75 because i could run the whole way w/ the 50 shot but i had to wait to hit the 75shot. the difference between time under nitro and power didn't cancle out. the 75 is awesome thou when on the street.

I'll race you guys 8psi with my 75 shot :)
seriously though I thought 8psi would be pretty similar to 75 shot if (pending on traction of 75 shot)the whole 1psi=about 11hp thing is true.

i just wanted to get a idea of which was faster and thought it would make it less complicated assuming they were both bolted to a stock car. anyway i was wondering b/c i see the times of both on peeps posts and it seems like the 75shot is as fast as about 8psi. theoreticly it should be the turbo, but I guess there is only one way to find out.

1psi!=11hp (1 psi doesn't always equal 11hp)

a stock eclipse dyno's at about 115hp (give or take a few hp), my car dyno'd at 175hp at 3psi, that's a difference of 60 hp, which makes it 20 hp per pound of boost. 20, not 11. that's a big difference.

so you made about 210 at the crank at 3psi then. a nitrous kit makes 215 at the crank with 75 shot (140+75). so like i said a 5 psi turbo should run faster than a 75 shot, especially considering that we turbo's launch under boost, and hold it all the way, while the sprayers dont really start boosting until second gear. so at 8psi it should be no contest. im sure plenty of guys here got dyno's and ET's for both setups. do a search

well.... IT DOESNT MATTER!!!
All the more happier I am going to be then when the turbo arrives at my door steps then... cha I thought 75 shot was badass now I cant wait for the b l o w job my turbo is going to give my car.

fact: All nitro users switch too turbo sooner or later... so it seems?

edit...cyan, oops - i read u're post wrong..but yeah, that was my point, you'd at least need to get slicks w/ the 75 to MAYBE be able to spray in 1st. MAYBE. when i tried it in first at the track my car immeadiately redlined and the wheelhop was so bad that i thought i broke an axle. but either way NITRO is awesome and i loved it when i had it but it was starting to get expensive at 33$ per 10 runs. it adds up really fast.

8psi would win...all things being equal. but, the nitrous doesnt spool up, so from a roll i think it would be interesting. ive had(have) both, and there is no doubt in my mind the 8psi is faster. Nitrous is good though...helps big hair dryers spool... }>

This comparison was once done with integra GSRs by turbo mag with both cars dyno'd. One had a direct port nitrous kit and the other a drag turbo kit. Both ran nearly identicle 1/4 times (mid 13s). It was concluded that the turbo car needed to produce more hp to equal the 1/4 times of nitrous mainly becuase the nitrous had more power everywhere except the last few thousand rpms. The turbo car needed 20 more peak hp to run indenticle times( they dyno'd approx 260hp 80 shot nitrous vs 280hp @ 10psi). So the question is how much hp does 8psi deliver on our cars (and we all know that depends on too many variables ex turbo, intercooler, piping, manifold ect ect). All we can do is speculate. Even if we raced two cars it wouldn't prove anything absolute.

I'll try racing Jason this summer at the Battle in Joliet IL }>
Should be interesting. But, If he gets his internals before Battle he better run 8psi.
