19802, Custom Kit
Posted by JohannS07, Apr-15-02 12:10 PM
Hello everyone,

I might have found someone that is upgrading their GS-T and is selling the turbo, intercooler, 1g BOV, mid-pipe, and down-pipe. My question to you guys (the experts) is where can i get the exhaust manifold that will fit our 420a? Because I know the 4g63 is different all together. I know I will need to customize intercooler pipes for my car, but main concern is exhaust manifold. Also, what would i need to put on my ecu so that it can happily read the extra boost? I know I will need fuel upgrades (Fuel Pressure Reg., fuel Pump, Injectors) but ECU wise what do I need? I am interested in doing this work myself rather than buying a kit because it gives me the freedom to take my time and do something different. Any advice, answers, suggestions, etc.....Deeply Appreciated

I believe that's the hardest part of making a custom kit. Fabricating some type of manifold and downpipe to fit. But yeah, there are people in this board that have done it before, so don't let it discourage you. Good luck

yeah do a search for cutom kits, incase nothing comes up, I don't know where to get a manifold done, but you could try buying one from HRC or Star (not sure if they will sell it appart) for the ecu you will need a vc1 or vc2 to prevent fuel cut if you are an 96 to 99.

Why search when this is exactly what you need

They sell to ASOG and 2GNT members for $250 and you can keep your downpipe after cutting the first 2 to 3 inches past the flange

Alain, Can I mount a stock Mitsu turbo to that? or is it for a Turbonetics type? Also how can I find the piece that goes from the turbo to the rest of the exhaust? Which I think should also house my O2 sensor? I appreciate you info. And who do I contact for that exhaust manifold? Thanks.

This manifold is made for a T-25, 14B or 16G
the t-25 is the turbo from the second gen Eclipse turbo the 14b is the one from the first gen with manual tranny

You will need to buy a O2 housing eliminator to use that manifold
it's just a flange that will bolt where the o2 housing is on the stock turbo, and from there you will a new section of pipping to joint the modified OEM downpipe, any muffler shop can do in 1 hour or less

You keep the OEM downpipe so you also keep the OEM o2 sensor in the downpipe

The person to contact is me :-)

Alain95i4- How is it possible to rotate the housings on the TD05 turbos. They dont have the bolts connecting the housings together like on the t25.

Easy you remove the rings that are holding the center cartridge
You can now split apart your turbo in 3 sections (2 housing and 1 cartridge) you will find a very small metal pin you just grind and voila you can rebolt your turbo and rotate the center cartridge for any orientation of the oil flanges

Will grinding off that little pin cause a loss of integrity between the turbo housings?

>Will grinding off that little pin cause a loss of integrity

It won't the pin is about 1.5 mm and 1 mm long and it used to align the center section 2 minutes on a dremel and it's done

BTW the same manifold is available with flanges for the T3 and T4 series
