I have put a post before about putting a turbo in an automatic...I ordered my star stage 1 turbo kit for my 99 eclipse which is an automatic, but how come people are saying it wasnt worth getting it? Arent there any good things about having a turbo in an automatic?
I dont have to worry about traction which i think is a good thing..Well i am going to install my kit this saturday, and ill see what happens, Does anyone else have a turbo in an automatic or know anyone with a turbo in an automatic eclipse? if so, what are there quarter mile times? can they beat gs-t's?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a turbo on an automatic. I am good friends with a guy here that has run 18PSi on an automatic, and beleive me, it's cool.. No lift to shift!

Personally, I think you should have gone with HRC kit. Because the Super16G is a bit smaller, and will spool a bit faster, which youll need cause you can't launch at any more than 2000 rpms. The STAR turbo will have you moving damn good, but I woulda got HRC in that situation.

p.s. Your gonna need a tansmission cooler, and a Tansmission Temp gauge. (If you wanna buy mine you can, ive never used it cause im getting a new 5-speed Eclipse)

i havent run it, but i pulled on a modded 5 spd gst the other night from a roll.

personally, i think the auto is garbage, and i would love to swap in a 5 spd. Unless you go all out and build a 9 sec race car w/ level 10 race-prep tranny, i think the 1 sec advantage a 5 spd has outweighs the always in boost advantage of the auto ;). even tho i hate havin the auto, the car is a fucking blast to drive :)

Nobody ever said anything about you wasting your money to turbo an auto. We were just saying that with the auto AND a big ass turbo that comes with the Star Kit, you will be experiencing more lag. That's my sole reason why I went with the HRC kit, I need something (eventhough a bit smaller) to spool quicker and hitting full boost at a lower RPM range. Hell, boost is boost the way I see it. You will like your results regardless of what kit you get. And like I said before about beating 5-speed GS-T's, it REALLY depends on the driver. You on the other hand don't have to worry about traction or misshift. Good luck either way, hope to see more boosted auto's in this site :7 !!!!!!
