19466, what's a good muffler Posted by Kirby, Apr-10-02 04:43 AM
well my car still sounds too loud. the exaust rattle is gone but the note of my exaust is rattling all my pannels and everything. i want something that will be quieter, what should i get i don't want something too restrictive that will hurt performance. how much restriction is ok to have? please post what type of muffler you have if it's not too loud and doesn't hurt your performance?

What do you have now?
If you have no resonator on the car, start with that. Get a $15 cherry bomb muffler from any auto parts store and have it put on after the cat and it will help to quiet the raspy loudness down but keep the low end rumble and you'll notice NO decrease in performance.

get the CB glasspack resonator, and it will make your exhaust sound suuuhweeet. make sure u know your piping size, and dont get one more than 26" 15" as mentioned will be fine..

Well I am running a Not so expensive Sebring with star stage 2, and that thing sounds awsome, nice tone and not to deep. Looks wise..... just looks like a Tanabe Racing Medalion, all yours installed with 2.75" pipe from downpipe back for under $200.... (since i am in cali, i also had a dynomax highflow cat installed, for a little more..

The name on the muffler, sorry I didn't keep the box or sticker for the muffler, and thus the miss-spelling (and i am a software engineer and we can't spell in the first place). I'll go whip out my digital camera and take a pic of it real quick... brb.
