19203, Question about 440 injectors?? Posted by 96venger, Apr-07-02 12:22 AM
I am going to be running 440 accel injectors, s afc, and a S FMU. About what is the max boost that i will be able to run with this fuel setup??
I have read Corbin's page but not very carefully. Also what kind of power can I expect out of that and the howell bottom end, some port work on the head, and new valve job?? I also have the N1 exhaust, test pipe , CM stage 4, and other little things here and there..
Thanks

I am going the same setup as you. I calculated with corbin's formula that my goal boost pressure would be 15psi, at about 290fwhp, with a 3:1 SFMU disk.

@15psi, you should be well above 290 fwhp from what I've calculated. On avg, I've seen 300 fwhp at about 12psi. (unless you're using fwhp to mean "front wheel"hp. I was thinking flywheel when I wrote this. I think you'd get around 290 at the wheels at 15psi...)
To answer 96venger, I think you'll be limited by internals at this point. You'll be able to boost as high as your rods (or rings) can take which is supposed to be around 14-15psi I believe.

I DO have internals. I said that in the first post.
Vinnie that is about where I want to be around 300 FWHP! I am just worried about what psi the 440's are capable of handling cause if they can handle 16 or 17psi I will try it
Oh yeah I went with the 8.5:1 compression if that makes any difference.

fwhp was meant as front wheel horse power. So yes around 15psi i've been told it's equivalent to about 290~300fwhp.
I'm going to give it a shot with the 440's and 1:1 regulator and slightly higher fuel pressure for now until i can get a hold of a good safc.
Probably a 2:1 ratio is what corbin said would be good. 440's has been known to be good up to 15psi, but that's only what I heard.

I dyno'd 242HP with 10psi, 262 with 12psi and 283 with 15psi. I went a little safe on the Air/Fuel ratio so there was plenty of black smoke. :P

Vinnie you should be deep into the 13's if not high 12's with your LSD in and 15 psi!!!
I know how you feel, I am ready for 15 psi also.
Are you getting any kind of ignition yet?
