18563, Greddy Profec-B spiking to high?? Posted by pn0ymahal, Mar-27-02 01:54 PM well i took my car out today and i floored it and on my fuel pressure gauge it went to 100psi so i left off the gas... next i looked to see if i was in low boost (5psi) which i was so again i floored it and on my boost gauge it went to 9psi which is about high boost on the profec-b... i have not mess with any of the vacuum lines of the profec-b recently... i set all the knobs all the way to the left for low and high to reset them again, but when i floored it to see how much i got to move the knob i hit 7-9psi without using my profec-b?? i have a internal 5psi hrc internal wastegate... | |

Posted by pn0ymahal, Mar-27-02 05:10 PM well i reconnect the wastegate back to the turbo i ran up to like only 3psi dame i felt so helpless...hehe.. then i reconnected the profec-b without connecting the lower port to the wastegate and no over boosting =)... but my bov sounds hmmm like a little bit** =(... i then reconnect the lower port to the wastegate and once again overboosting occured... what i dont understand is that before when i 1st connect the lower port to the wastegate i never overboosted?? | |

Posted by Avenger EST, Mar-27-02 07:44 PM It sounds like hooking up your lower nipple from your BOV to the wastegate line is causing a vaccuum leak so you aren't getting full pressure to the wastegate actuator. Just leave that bottom nipple disconnected man. it is a vent. As long as yoru bov is releasing is all that matters. don't worry so much about the sound (after a while, the BOV noise will blend in to your normal car sounds anyway and you will forget all about it. ) | |

18567, RE: Greddy Profec-B spiking to high?? Posted by Corbin, Mar-28-02 06:03 AM If you want better sound with the lower port unhooked, open the BOV up and remove the smaller spring. I am running this way and it has a much better sound and blows off completely (no chatter). Put the spring back in if you start running higher boost. | |
