I remember awhile back someone saying that they bought a lower temp thermostat and I was wondering where they picked it up at. Mine crapped out on me the other day and the only ones I can find are the high temp ones (190 i think). Now my water temp is getting up a bit too high. I know the thermostat works cuz I dipped it in boiling water, I guess the temp is just too high. I actually got a CEL light tonight after I pulled in the garage and let it idle for a couple mins. I'm pretty sure the water temp through the code since it was almost 3/4 the way up grrrrr.

Howell sells a 160 degree thermostat for our cars (kinda). It's for the 95-99 Neons. All you have to do to make it fit in our cars is remove the rubber seal and drop it in ;-).

If you lower your thermostat your car won't get up to normal operating temps which means your ECU will still think your car is still warming up and it'll mess with your air/fuel mix.

if you live in a place that is always warm just remove it, don't replace it. your car will run nice and cool.

Semperboost: The only way that would happen when your car would run like shit is when your water temp stays under 150degree's (160 degree thermostat!!) I spoke with Aromond and howell about this and they said there will be NO side effects. I have never had a problem with the stat "staying to cold". Nether has Armond or any of the Howell Neons. I think you should do some research before you open your mouth ;-).
