I am looking at a used HRC stage 2 with a fmic. It is coming off a 99 and i have a 96 (9/95 build date). I know there are differences in the fuel systems. So what do i need to put this thing on my car? Thanks in advance...

I don't think there are fuel changes to any car for stage 2, I may be wrong though

96-99 fuel system is the same.

your car is should be a 95 unless they dragged some copper models into 96, there should be a sticker under your hood that says obd1 or obd2, the 99 is obd2. But i dn't really think it matters since 95 is just easier. You might want to ask Dave, although his was oppossite, from a 95 to a 97/8/9.

The main difference between that kit and the 95 kit is the fuel rail on the 99 is located near the tank. This causes you to have to run a return fuel line back to the tank from the engine bay. With the 95's, the rail is in the engine bay and already has that line. The other difference is that the 96+ have a different computer which requires a fuel cut defencer. They are both obd2 cars. If you want more specifics, call HRC's techline at (630)801-1417. Since you are buying a kit from a 1999, you should have all the necessary parts to install the kit for both a 99 and a 95.

wel i have a 96 and just went through a bunch of crap hooking mine up. my stock fpr is right by the tank, not on the fuel rail, hence there is no fuel return line coming back from the fuel rail. now if you have your stock fpr back by the tank all you do is hook up the new fmu inline with the stock return line going to the tank from the stock fpr....phewww. just run a boost line back to the new fmu and pow done. if you have the set up where this is true email me with any questions, i had some other great guys on here help me out big time with this, so feel free.

95s are OBD1 ;)

OBD2 wasnt mandated until 96, hence all the differences b/t the 95 and 96+. this is also why 95s dont need a fuel cut defencer.

I have a kit from a 95 and my car is a 97. We just had to put in 2 extra fuel lines going to the fpr. I wanted to mount the fpr in the engine bay because it would be hard to adjust if it were under the car. And I dont feel safe running a really long vacumm line under the car.

Well i emailed HRC my questions. And they said they can provide me with the early model fuel system kit, but they want a copy of the original invoice to proceed any further. The guy i am buying it from is getting it for me. Well i guess i will wait until this deal goes through before i ask what to do next. Thanks again...

I believe all you are goign to get is a bunch of hoses, clamps, and possibly some brass fitting.

the 95 fuel system is way easy to hook up and you do not need to crawl under the car to install a return line.
