The bottom down pipe pisses me off. Everytime I finger tighten it it keeps on unscrewing itself loose some how. Keep inmind I have a one piece down pipe.

Are some of you HRC owners experiencing the same thing? what did you do to remedy this?

dude i got mine welded where it would be a two piece at to clamp down and for me no problem...

I have a 15 mm nut on a M10 stud for that lower downpipe connection. I could never get the nut tight since there is no room for a wrench. I eventually bought a crow-foot wrench and hook it to a 2" extension and on to my socket wrench. It looks retarded, but it gets in there and gets the nut tight. I also use an internal star washer to keep it from backing out.

Sometimes I remove the fan to get good access to the nut. Corbin's solution sounds easier, though.

A common mistake is to not use the bracket that holds the downpipe to the front of the engine. Be sure that this is in place and securely tightened.

after many cuss word at my dog, I finally got mad and drop the fan as Bill suggest and tighten the hell out of that downpipe bolt.

I also had to hack up(shorten) a 14mm wrench in order to have clearance of the radiator fins. Note to self: replace dad's 14mm cresent wrench.

Now we'll see how long this lasts.
