How's it going everyone. If anyone has been following my posting on the engine board, i had a big problem last week with a major amount of oil comming out of my PCV release. I was doing some thinking about what everyone said, blow-by, bad ring seals, etc.. and was hoping that there was an easier solution. Well I FOUND ONE!!!!

I'm very suprised that no one else had this problem. Simply put, there are two pcv relases on the head, one goes to the intake manifold, the other goes to the intake filter. Long story short the pcv that was connected to the intake manifold was being pressurised by the turbo, that was forcing air into the head. That air had no-where else to go except out the other pcv release, which was mixing with oil. I closed the exit to the intake manifold, and connected the two pcv releases to an oil container, than ran 5 hard runs, a total of about 2 min of flooring it. At the end of the run there was NO oil to be seen, it worked. Just do yourself a favor, and make sure the tubing is all tight.

That;s why i have a big check valve in my PCV tube. Keeps the boost out of my crankcase. I've never had a problem with blowby.. ever. i don't even have a catchcan and there is never oil in my engine bay after hard runs.

A PCV valve are the two tubes that stick out of the head of your engine. One goes to your intake manifold, and the other one goes to your intake filter (on the HRC setup). They basically are designed to release excesive head pressure.

Sounds like u have it setup right, but a question for u. How do u have the PCV setup on the right side, is it still going to the intake filter?

That is why HRC's kit has you put the PCV back into the intake piping before the turbo. (air filter) that way it doesn't pressurize the valve cover.

If I knew you had that pcv routed AFTER the turbo it would of been a simple solution :P

I thought that everyone had their PCV piped the same way. Everything was basically stock except for the one heading to the intake filter. Was the HRC kit supposed to come with some kind of different PCV solution i didn't have?

Of course not. it just has a breather filter on it.

Hey Dino, so your saying that you put a check valve in the same line as the pcv valve? I thought that the PCV valve wouldn't let pressure go from the intake manifold to the head. If it does, then that sounds like a damn good idea... wonder why they dont have you do that with the kits.
