18195, anyone know how much timing advance our ecu does? Posted by jamesman, Mar-21-02 05:19 PM
does anyone know exactly how many degrees our ecu advances timing at certain rpm's? when i get the programmable dis2 i want to know so i can determine a baseline that will make everything zeroed. thanks james

Buy a datalogger. It varies depending on many factors, including air temp, engine temp, rpm, load, throttle %, O2 sensor output, and grade of fuel (or knock, whichever way you look at it)
There is no way you can say "it advances x degrees at y RPM" - it just doesn't work that way in a computer controlled ignition system.

Thanks Dino, i got a question for you, we both have 95's what are all the components you are using for datalogging, eg software, cable, pc? i want to get a setup, but honestly i have no idea where to start. thanks james

Houston 2GNT bought the software and cable from www.obd-2.com .. it works, but i am not entirely pleased with the datalogging capabilities.
